Valkyrie Rides Into May

MGM / UA has announced a May 19th release date for the Bryan Singer film Valkyrie. The film, based on actual events, stars Tom Cruise as Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, and details his attempted plot to assassinate Adolph Hitler. Valkyrie will be relased as a single disc DVD, a 2 Disc Special Edition DVD, and a 2 disc Blu-ray with a digital copy included.

Who Wants To Buy A Slumdog Millionaire?

20th Century Fox has announced a March 31st release date for the Oscar®-winning Slumdog Millionaire. The film, which took home 8 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director for Danny Boyle, will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray.

Who Let The Dogs Out?

Unfortunately, Marley & Me does not end with a massive party scene involving the twenty-two canines that portrayed the titular character and the Baha Men (crossing my fingers for Firehouse Dog 2), but perhaps it's made the deleted scenes, which you'll be able to check out starting March 31st. Marley & Me will be available as a single disc DVD, 2 DVD Bad Boy Edition with digital copy, and a 3 Disc Bad Boy Edition Blu-ray, which will include the film in high definition, a digital copy disc, and a standard DVD version of the film.

True Blu Blood

HBO Home Video has announced a May 19th release date for True Blood: The Complete First Season. The series will be released as a 5-disc set on both DVD and Blu-ray, and stars Anna Paquin as psychic barmaid Sookie Stackhouse, a role that has already earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama.

Got Milk?

Universal Studios has announced a March 10th release date for the Harvey Milk biopic, Milk. The film, being released on both DVD and Blu-ray, is currently nominated for 8 Oscars®, including Best Actor for Sean Penn, who looks like the current front runner after recently winning the Screen Actor's Guild Award.

Rachel Getting A Release Date

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced a March 10th release date for the Oscar®-nominated Rachel Getting Married on DVD and Blu-ray. The film received one nomination in the Best Actress category for star Anne Hathaway, who has already won several awards for the role, including the National Board of Review Award for Best Actress.
