The End Of The End For Jericho

While the outlook may be grim for fans of CBS' post-apocalyptic drama Jericho, at least fans won't have to wait long for their second season DVDs. A June 17th release date has been announced for Jericho: The Second Season, along with a same day release of Jericho: The Complete Series for those of you who didn't get around to picking up the first season.

Add This Bucket To Your List

Warner Bros. has announced a June 10th release date for The Bucket List on DVD and Blu-Ray. The film stars Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman as two terminally ill cancer patients who make a "bucket list" of things to do before they die. So if you actually are making a bucket list, be sure to put "Watch The Bucket List" on it.

4-22-2008

Paramount Pictures has announced an April 22nd release date for the smash hit Cloverfield. The film follows a group of survivors documenting an attack on New York City by a horrific monster. Those of you who needed Dramamine while watching the Bourne films may want to steer clear of the shaky cam madness, but the rest of you can look forward to one of the most exciting films of 2008 come April 22nd.

No Business Like Grow Business

Lionsgate has announced a June 3rd release for season three of the critically acclaimed Showtime series Weeds. With the second season's cliffhanger ending involving Nancy and Conrad in the middle of a Mexican standoff, fans without Showtime should be egger to see what's in store for the Botwin clan. The entire third season will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Batman's Turning Japanese

Preceding the highly anticipated July 18th release of The Dark Knight, Warner Bros. is releasing a collection of anime-inspired Batman shorts titled Batman: Gotham Knight. Set for a July 8th release, the collection will be released as a standard single disc, a 2 disc Collector's Edition, and a Blu-Ray. Similar to The Animatrix, the shorts will focus on events taking place between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

Universal Declares "War"

Universal Studios has announced an April 22nd release date for Charlie Wilson's War, available in both widescreen and fullscreen formats. The film tells the true story of Congressman Charlie Wilson (Tom Hanks) whose support of the Afghan mujahideen led to their defeat of the Soviet Union's military occupation in Afghanistan. The film also stars Julia Roberts and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Let The Bodies Hit The Floor

Defying all logic and reason, Sylvester Stallone gave fourth blood to his second most popular franchise and hit box office gold this past January with Rambo. Now set for home video release on May 27th, the film will be available in widescreen and fullscreen formats, and a 2 disc Special Edition with a digital copy for playback on iPods and Windows Media devices. The film will also be made available on Blu-Ray. No word yet on when Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot Again is expected to hit theaters.

Hard Knock Life

The Spanish/Mexican supernatural thriller The Orphanage arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray on April 22nd. The film was produced by Pan's Labyrinth director Guillermo Del Toro, and focuses on a woman who's son begins to communicate with an invisible friend who may not be imaginary.
